The neck is one of the first areas to show the signs of ageing — and one of the most overlooked when it comes to aesthetic treatment. The Nefertiti lift, named after the ancient Egyptian queen renowned for her elegant, well-defined neck and jawline, is a specialist anti-wrinkle injection technique that addresses this area with remarkable results.
How the Nefertiti lift works
As we age, certain muscles in the neck and lower face begin to pull downward — contributing to jowling, a softened jawline definition and the development of neck bands. The platysma, a broad sheet of muscle running from the collarbone to the lower jaw, is the primary culprit. When it contracts, it pulls the lower face and jaw downward, working against the muscles that lift.
The Nefertiti lift uses precise anti-wrinkle injections along the lower jawline and into the platysma bands of the neck to relax these downward-pulling muscles. This allows the natural lifting muscles to work without resistance — creating an upward pull that defines the jawline, lifts the corners of the mouth and smooths the neck.
"The Nefertiti lift doesn't add anything artificial — it simply restores the natural muscular balance that creates an elegant, defined neckline."
What results can I expect?
The treatment produces a subtle but genuinely transformative effect on the lower face and neck. You can expect:
- A more defined jawline and improved jaw-to-neck transition
- A lifting effect on the corners of the mouth
- Reduced appearance of platysmal bands (vertical neck cords)
- A smoother, more youthful neck profile
Results appear gradually over 7–14 days as the treatment takes effect, and typically last 3–5 months. Many clients combine the Nefertiti lift with Profhilo applied to the neck for an even more comprehensive result — the injections address muscle activity while Profhilo improves the skin quality and hydration of the neck itself.
Who is a good candidate?
The Nefertiti lift works best for clients who are beginning to notice a softening of the jaw definition or the development of jowling, but who don't yet have significant skin laxity requiring surgical intervention. It's particularly effective for clients in their 40s and 50s, though we have treated clients both younger and older with excellent results.
As with all our treatments, the best starting point is a free consultation — where we can assess the neck and jaw in person and advise on the most appropriate approach for your specific anatomy.
